Journalism and fact-checking: friends or foes?

About the event

In a world of disinformation, misinformation, and propaganda, how can we trust what we read and hear? How do journalists verify their sources and facts before publishing their stories? And how do fact-checkers scrutinise the claims and evidence of politicians, celebrities, and media outlets? Join us for an engaging session on Journalism and fact-checking, where we will explore the challenges and opportunities of reporting and verifying the truth in the digital age, and the relationship between journalists and fact/checkers. You will hear from experts and practitioners who will share their insights and experiences on the role and impact of journalism and fact-checking in our society. Closing the session, Alessandra Paradisi will present RAI Pills ‘United against disinformation’, an example of collaboration between both fields.

Whether you are a curious citizen, an aspiring journalist, or a seasoned professional, this session will equip you with the skills and knowledge to navigate the complex and often contradictory information landscape.
