Journalism relevance — rebuilding trust with citizens
About the event
Join Damian Tambini and Adrien Broche as they explore the critical connection between journalism’s relevance and public trust. “If we want to rebuild trust with citizens, we will do so by showing our relevance as a quality news service provider.” This belief has been the driving force behind the Agora for Journalism’s annual Barometer on Journalism Relevance, a unique initiative launched in 2016.
With the collaboration of four leading media partners — Radio France, France TV, France Médias Monde, and Ouest-France — and the Viavoice Institute, the barometer assesses the perceived relevance and usefulness of journalism in society, while also examining how journalism itself is viewed by the public. It stands as the only barometer of its kind in Europe, providing invaluable insights into the role journalism plays in addressing societal needs and rebuilding trust.
In this talk, you will discover how the Barometer on Journalism Relevance is shaping the way media organizations think about trust, accountability, and their role as a cornerstone of democracy.
