Tiko Tsomaia
Tiko Tsomaia (MD, PhD) is a professor of journalism and communication at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs in Tbilisi. Her extensive career spans education, journalism, communications, research, and training.
She serves as a board member of the European Journalism Training Association (EJTA) and represents Georgia at the European Observatory on Femicide.
Tsomaia manages ‘Feminicide‘, a platform dedicated to raising public awareness about femicide. She is also the founder of the ‘Open Movement’, which promotes open discussions on mental health issues. A recognised expert in journalism education, Tsomaia has significant experience in organising large-scale media and communication projects. Her research interests include femicide in times of war, prenatal sex selection, trauma and addiction, ethical decision-making, media literacy, and health communication.
