Carine Fouteau
Carine Fouteau is a journalist, president and publishing editor of Mediapart, a french independent, investigative website providing daily news and feature articles and which offers subscribers their own participative space. Based on a subscribers-only model, Mediapart has adopted a non-profit structure, preventing billionaires from acquiring a stake. Carine Fouteau succeeded co-founder Edwy Plenel in March 2024. She joined Mediapart from its inception in 2008 to investigate migration issues, before co-directing the editorial team between 2018 and 2023. She began her journalism career at Les Echos, which she left after its acquisition by LVMH.
