Luciana Esposito

Luciana Esposito

Luciana Esposito (Naples, 1984) lives in Cercola, bordering Ponticelli, a neighborhood on the eastern outskirts of Naples.
In 2014, she founded Napolitan.it, an independent editorial project that provides a constant observatory on Camorra and social dynamics in eastern Naples.
In 2015, after publishing an article revealing the background to the murder of crime boss Annunziata D’Amico, she was attacked by members of a clan. The perpetrators of the attack were subsequently convicted after a seven-year trial, during which the Campania Journalists’ Union and the National Federation of the Italian Press joined the case as civil plaintiffs.
Despite constant threats from the clans, Luciana Esposito has continued her journalistic work unwaveringly, receiving numerous awards over the years for her civic and professional commitment. In the spring of 2025, as an external consultant for the Master’s Degree in Social Media at the Faculty of Sociology at the Federico II University of Naples, she participated in the first sector study on the use of digital platforms by organized crime.
Since May 2025, she has been living under police protection. Since November 2025, she has been a member of the board of directors of Giulia Giornaliste.
