Reporting Iran: Women, resistance, and risk
About the event
In 2022, as protests erupted across Iran, Mortaza Behboudi was one of the only European journalists reporting from inside the country, documenting women on the frontlines while narrowly escaping the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). From burning streets to hidden safe houses, he followed the uprising as it unfolded, filming and investigating at constant personal risk.
Drawing on his reports and documentaries about Iran’s resistance, Mortaza takes the audience behind the scenes of reporting under surveillance and threat. It is a story of women, defiance, exile, and the cost of refusing silence. His books: Femme, vie, liberté: Un reporter infiltré au coeur de la révolte iranienne and Fixers: Reporters Without Bylines
