Antonio Lopez
Antonio López is a Professor of Communications and Media Studies at John Cabot University in Rome. His research focuses on ecomedia literacy, bridging media education with environmental communication. López has authored several books, including ‘Ecomedia Literacy: Integrating Ecology into Media Education’ (Routledge, 2021), and co-edited the ‘Routledge Handbook of Ecomedia Studies’ (2024). He has published extensively on climate communication and media literacy. López is the creator of ecomedialiteracy.org, an open educational resource for teaching about environmental issues through media literacy.
He received the 2022 Marieli Rowe Innovation in Media Literacy Education Award. López recently developed the Liberal Arts and Sciences Strengthening Guide on Ecomedia Literacy and Sustainable Development Goals, supported by the Global Liberal Arts Alliance. His work aims to advance understanding of how media shapes perceptions of climate change and to empower critical engagement with environmental media.
