Anne Leppäjärvi is an award-winning Finnish journalism trainer and a long-standing media literacy expert. She has trained educators and developed learning materials for a range of grade levels, from preschool to teacher education. Currently, she serves as the Degree Program Director for both Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Journalism at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki.

In addition to her academic work, Leppäjärvi is the President of the European Journalism Training Association and a member of the executive board of the International Press Institute. As a doctoral researcher at the University of Tampere, her research focuses on empathetic understanding as a key professional competence in journalism.
