About the event
Louise Herrche Serup and Sarah Hartvigsen Juncker visited 152 sex clinics to capture the everyday lives, longing, love, fear, and dreams of 35 migrant sex workers and potential human trafficking victims in Denmark.
For this immersive yet deeply personal series, they journeyed across the country to document and depict the lives and conditions of migrant sex workers. As a result of visiting 152 clinics where these people live and work, and collaborating with some of them personally, this exhibition crafts a compelling portrait of the parallel world these women live.
Sarah Hartvigsen Juncker and Louise Herrche Serup are documentary photographers based in Copenhagen, Denmark. They both graduated in photojournalism from Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole (DMJX) (the Danish School of Media and Journalism) in Aarhus in 2021.
The two photographers made the project for their final BA-exam in the spring 2021 and received the Ritzau Scanpix Prize for best photojournalist BA-project at the graduation ceremony in June 2021.
