When the camera turns away: Who speaks for those left behind?

About the event

As Western governments redirect aid toward defense and populist narratives erode commitments to equality and inclusion, the world’s most vulnerable — women and girls, refugees, displaced populations, and persons with disabilities — are losing both funding and visibility. This session asks a hard question: when the camera turns away, who speaks for those left behind? Through an interactive debate, speakers will explore how to respond this moment of rollback. The conversation will focus on what ethical collaboration between academia, NGOs, and journalism can look like when public attention shifts — and what it means to give voice to the voiceless.
