Andrea Colamedici

Andrea Colamedici

Andrea Colamedici is a philosopher, publisher, and writer whose work explores how reality is constructed in the age of algorithmic consciousness. In 2014 he co-founded Tlon with Maura Gancitano, building a cultural ecosystem that spans publishing, bookshops and festivals.
His 2024 philosophical experiment Hypnocracy, published under the pseudonym Jianwei Xun and co-written with AI systems as critical interlocutors, embodied its own thesis: a book about the collapse of truth and fiction that performed that collapse through its very existence.
His forthcoming Prompt Thinking. A critique of generative reason (Polity Press, 2026) offers a methodological response to navigating algorithmic reality. Colamedici serves as president of GenIA, the interdisciplinary AI hub at Rome’s Academy of Arts and New Technologies, and teaches Prompt Thinking at IED Rome and 24Ore Business School. He is philosophical director of the Festival del Pensare Contemporaneo and the Carnival of Putignano.
