Born in Messina in 1977.

Graduated with honours in Literature with a specialisation in History.

Teacher since 2002.

Elected senator in 2018 and then in 2022, after serving as leader of the M5S group in the Senate, she has been President of the Rai Supervisory Commission since April 2023.

In the previous legislature, she was Undersecretary for Education with responsibility for ecological transition, devising and implementing the first systemic plan in Europe for the ecological transition of schools, “RiGenerazione Scuola”.

She is the author of the book “Una nuova mappa per l’Italia” on the themes and vision of the Five Star Movement, with a preface by Domenico De Masi and Giuseppe Conte.

She is the promoter of the States General of Public Service held in November 2024.

She is President of the parliamentary intergroup “EducAzione Social” on social networks, digital addictions and the conscious use of smartphones.
