Can Dündar

Can Dündar has worked as a journalist for 47 years for leading newspapers, magazines and Turkish TV channels. In 2016, he stepped down as editor-in-chief of Cumhuriyet after being imprisoned over his reporting on the Turkish Intelligence Service’s involvement in the Syrian war.

In 2020, he was sentenced in absentia to 27 years in prison. He founded #ÖZGÜRÜZRadio in Berlin and has worked with Die Zeit, Gorki Theatre and COSMO. He has produced documentaries for ARTE, ZDF, DW and ARD and written over 40 books, translated into several languages. He is now editor-in-chief of a Turkish YouTube channel and website at CORRECTIV.
