Cecilia Anesi is the Executive Director of IRPI (Investigative Reporting Project Italy), Italy’s investigative journalism, which she co-founded in 2012. Cecilia is also an investigative reporter with IrpiMedia, the investigative media outlet of IRPI. IRPI is a member of the Global Investigative Journalism Network and the OCCRP Network. A graduate in Journalism with Sociology from City University, London, as a journalist Cecilia investigates the Italian organised crime gangs and their transnational ties, especially the ‘ndrangheta, but has published about doomed finance, frauds, corruption, environmental crimes, and women issues. She has worked on documentaries and podcasts, including the Verified series of Stitcher. She has taken part in international collaborations such as the #DaphneProject, #OpenLux and #SuisseSecrets. Moreover, Cecilia has coordinated the IrpiMedia project Senza Segnale, supported by the LocalMedia4Democracy Fund.
