Charlie Shepherd leads the policy and communications for The Guardian Foundation, a global charity dedicated to promoting press freedom, media literacy and access to quality liberal journalism. She has extensive expertise in education policy and recently worked on a successful campaign to include media literacy in the school curriculum in England. Prior to The Guardian Foundation, she worked at the NSPCC, where she managed creative projects and collaborated with technology companies on campaigns to promote online safety. She has a BA in English Literature from the University of Sheffield and is currently studying for a Master’s in Political Communication at the University of London.
