Esra Aygin is an award-winning journalist specializing in Cyprus and a Cyprus correspondent for Reporters Without Borders. A journalist since 2000, she has worked as a freelancer and for major international media, including the Associated Press and Bloomberg. Her reporting on Cyprus has appeared in leading publications such as the International Herald Tribune and The Washington Post. She helped establish the first partnership between a Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot newspaper and co-authored “Words that Matter,” a glossary promoting sensitive media language. She also served as North Cyprus editor for OCCRP and as a columnist for the Cyprus Mail.
