Federico Germani is Co-director of the Information, Technology & Experimental Ethics (ITE) Lab at the IBME, University of Zurich, and Associate Professor of AI and Information Ethics at Boğaziçi University.

His research explores how misinformation, AI, and digital environments influence beliefs, decisions, and trust. He studies why people become susceptible to misleading information and how critical thinking and information literacy can strengthen resilience.

He has collaborated with international organizations on infodemic management and social listening ethics, and served as rapporteur for a WHO expert group from 2023 to 2025. He is a leading researcher on AI-generated disinformation.
