
Mato Brautović
Mato Brautović is a Full Professor at the University of Dubrovnik, where he teaches courses on digital media, journalism, and digital methods. He was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of Florida and previously served as Head of the Mass Communication Department at the University of Dubrovnik. He currently holds the position of Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Public Relations, and Student Affairs at the university. Professor Brautović is the project coordinator and principal investigator of several EU-funded initiatives focused on fact-checking and countering disinformation, including the Adria Digital Media Observatory (ADMO) and the DU-CHECK Center for Digital Investigations and Civic Resilience.
He was also a research associate on the Pro-fact project, which addressed COVID-19 disinformation in Croatia. He is a member of the Executive Board of the European Digital Media Observatory and collaborates with international organizations in the fields of media literacy and digital resilience. He has authored numerous books, book chapters, and academic articles on disinformation, media literacy, and digital journalism. Throughout his career, he has received various academic and professional awards for his contributions to the field.
