Sandro Ruotolo

Sandro Ruotolo is a journalist and MEP for the Partito Democratico, a member of the Socialisti e Democratici  (S&D) group, committed to defending freedom of information and fighting organised crime. Born in Naples, he has dedicated his professional life to telling uncomfortable stories, often exposing himself personally. His work has helped to open investigations, bring hidden truths to light and give a voice to those who have none.

He brings this same determination to his European mandate. He deals with rights, media and child protection, with a constant focus on the effects of digital platforms on young people and the quality of democracy. He is a member of the Committee on Culture and Education, Civil Liberties and Petitions, co-chair of the Political Committee of the Eurolat Interparliamentary Assembly and a member of the Delegation for relations with Mexico. Finally, he is the representative of the Culture Committee in the working group on artificial intelligence. She believes in a Europe that defends those who inform, supports culture and combats all forms of mafia intimidation. Her commitment stems from the idea that justice and transparency are common goods to be protected with rigour and courage.
