Voices, the European Festival of Journalism and Media Freedom, aims at bringing citizens, journalists, and media professionals together to explore crucial themes shaping our relationship with information and media.
For the upcoming third edition, Voices is about to return to Florence at Teatro del Maggio Musicale on 10–12 March 2026.
The second edition of the festival took place in Zagreb on 27 February - 1 March 2025. Over the course of three days, the festival explored crucial themes shaping our relationship with information and media nowadays through talks, interactive workshops, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
Before Croatia, Voices kicked off in Florence back in March 2024. Over 1300 participants attended sessions tackling artificial intelligence and journalism, disinformation, safety of journalists, the challenges within media economic models, media literacy, elections' integrity, EU legislation on media, digital parenting, and digital well-being, among others.
The festival is an itinerant initiative, moving across different European cities to engage different communities.
Voices is the result of a collaboration among seven European partners, led by the Centre for Media Pluralism and Media Freedom at the European University Institute. The consortium includes the European Federation of Journalists, the European Broadcasting Union, EAVI – Media Literacy for Citizens, Journalisme et Citoyenneté, Lie Detectors and Savoir Devenir. It is a project co-financed by the European Union.
Voices, Europski festival novinarstva i medijske pismenosti, dolazi u Zagreb od 28. veljače do 1. ožujka 2025. godine. Voices je nastao je na ideji povezivanja građana svih generacija s novinarima i medijskim stručnjacima kako bi zajedno debatirali i analizirali ključne teme koje oblikuju suvremeno informacijsko i medijsko okruženje te naš odnos s novinarstvom i informacijama danas.
Kroz panele, razgovore, interaktivne i kreativne radionice, izložbe i predstave, Festival će otvoriti mnoge suvremene teme koje se tiču novinarstva, medijske pismenosti i informiranog građanstva. Ulaz je slobodan za sve događaje u okviru Festivala.
Europski festival novinarstva i medijske pismenosti inicijativa je koja putuje u različite europske gradove kako bi se povezala s lokalnim zajednicama i lokalnim problemima, rješenjima i potrebama. Zagreb je na rasporedu nakon prvog izdanja koje je održano u Firenci u ožujku 2024. i privuklo više od 1300 sudionika.
Voices je rezultat suradnje sedam europskih partnera, koje predvodi Centar za pluralizam i slobodu medija (CMPF) na Europskom sveučilišnom institute (EUI). Konzorcij uključuje Europsku federaciju novinara (EFJ), Europsku radio-televizijsku uniju (EBU), EAVI - Medijsku pismenost za građane, Journalisme et Citoyenneté, Lie Detectors i Savoir Devenir. Projekt sufinancira Europska unija.
