We used to have breakfast reading the local paper. Some would have trusted friends working as local journalists. These might be sweet lost memories, or a starting point for new forms of local reporting. Cady Kielmann, innovation strategist at the Dutch local broadcaster BNNVARA, will guide us through the experience of four journalists working in different contexts: Althertess, a digital native outlet from Thessaloniki; Chronos, an historical local newspaper from Kozani; a documentary maker working on environmental stories from rural Turkey; and the Cyprus Investigative Reporting Network (CIReN). All working to bridge local communities and to make local stories heard.
