Hrvoje was born in 1984 in Zadar. He spent his childhood in refugee camps across the country, growing up on a steady diet of polenta and powdered milk. Until June 2012, he worked for several years as an editor at the Nacionala portal, which now has ceased to exist. Since then, he has been a so-called freelance journalist, writing for various domestic and international media outlets. He received awards from the Croatian Journalists’ Association (HND) for investigative and written journalism.
