When anti-regime journalist Lena (Aliaksandra Vaitsekhovich) is arrested for livestreaming the violent crackdown on a protest against the 2020 Belarusian election, her husband Ilya (Valentin Novopolskij) is thrust into an impossible dilemma. As police raids continue and the reality sets in that Lena could spend years behind bars, Ilya must confront the sacrifices that come with standing by her side. Meanwhile, in prison, Lena faces intense pressure from the authorities to abandon her activism and betray her deeply held beliefs.

Inspired by the true story of Katsyaryna Andreeva and Igor Ilyash, Under the Grey Sky captures the deeply personal cost of political resistance while serving as a powerful reminder of its enduring necessity.
