Amalie Thorlund Jepsen is an investigative reporter at DR Documentary, Danish Broadcasting Corporation. She was one of the leading forces behind DR’s pitch to the EBU Investigative Journalism Network for “Donor 7069,” an investigation into the European sperm donation market. More than ten broadcasters joined the collaboration from BBC to Deutsche Welle. Through extensive cross-border FOI requests and joint reporting, the team of journalists uncovered that danish sperm carrying a hidden cancer mutation had been shipped to 14 countries, resulting in at least 200 children.
