Anne Leppäjärvi
Anne Leppäjärvi is an award-winning Finnish journalism trainer and a long-standing expert in media literacy. She has trained educators and developed learning materials for a range of grade levels, from preschool to teacher education. Currently, she works as a part-time expert in Finland for the News Media Association and on UNESCO’s media and information literacy projects.
Leppäjärvi serves as the Degree Program Director for both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Journalism at Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences in Helsinki. As a doctoral researcher at the University of Tampere, her research focuses on media and information literacy as a key professional competence in audience engagement.
In addition to her academic work, Leppäjärvi is the President of the European Journalism Training Association and a member of the executive board of the International Press Institute.
