Giorgos Christides
Giorgos Christides is a Greece-based investigative journalist specialised in migration. His work has been published by leading Greek and international media, including The Guardian, BBC, NDR/ARD, and Al Jazeera.
He served as Greece correspondent for Der Spiegel from 2012 to 2023. He received the Investigative Journalism for Europe Prize in 2022, 2023, and 2024 and the Daphne Caruana Galizia Prize for Journalism and the SIGMA Award for Data Journalism in 2023. In 2022, he received the De Tegel Award, and in 2009, he was awarded the European Parliament Journalism Award for print media. He is pursuing a PhD on Migration and the Media and lectures at the University of Thessaloniki and the Athens
