Hrvoje Zovko

Hrvoje Zovko is a journalist currently writing for the daily newspaper Večernji list, its weekend editions, and the weekly Express. He has been a member of the Croatian Journalists’ Association since 1997 and its president since 2018. Over the course of 26 years, he worked at Croatian National Television (HRT), where he reported from Afghanistan (2004 and 2012), served as a correspondent for HRT in Serbia (2008–2010), worked as a desk editor in the news division (2014), and was editor of internal politics (2015 and 2016). He also reported on the terrorist attacks in Manchester (2017) and was the executive editor of the news channel HTV4 (2018).

When he began his journalism career in 1995, he wrote for local daily newspapers Novi list and Glas Slavonije. From 2012 to 2018, he was president of the Association of Croatian Investigative Journalists. He graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, majoring in history and geography. In 2004, he completed the School of Documentary Film in Montpellier. He is the author of several TV documentaries on topics related to the war in Croatia in the 1990s.
