Julia Savchenko
Julia Savchenko is a journalist, TV anchor, and media manager with two decades of international experience. Her diverse roles have involved producing TV and radio shows in London, Moscow, and Washington for the BBC World Service and Voice of America. She has served as Senior Moscow Correspondent for VOANews and conducted research on media and democracy at institutions such as the National Endowment for Democracy in Washington, the Center for Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law of Stanford University, and the Austrian Academy of Peace. Currently, Julia holds the position of Senior Editor of International Broadcasting at Voice of America.
For the past eight years, she has overseen the full-cycle production of the signature TV show ITOGI, which stands as the flagship program of Voice of America and Current Time TV Channel. This show aims to deliver quality balanced journalism, countering disinformation in regions where access to such reporting is limited. ITOGI consistently attracts millions of viewers and enjoys widespread recognition in the Eastern and Central European TV markets.
Julia’s contributions to journalism have earned her five Journalism Excellence awards from the US Agency for International Media.
