René Schaar is a certified Diversity Manager and the Deputy Head of Equality and Diversity at Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) in Hamburg, Germany. With over a decade of experience in media, including eight years as a video editor, René is dedicated to promoting inclusivity and representation across all forms of media.

One of his notable achievements is spearheading the creation of Elin, the first German Sesame Street Muppet with a disability, ensuring that children have access to diverse role models on television.

Born with a physical disability himself, René brings a deeply personal perspective to his advocacy.
