Giulia Giannasi

Giulia Giannasi is a Communications Officer in the Research Communications sector at the European University Institute. She is assigned to the Centre for Media Pluralism and Freedom and the Centre for a Digital Society, where she supports the Centres’ mission of building bridges between academic research and public debate.

At the EUI, she specialises in translating complex findings into creative and educational outputs, and in developing event communication. A core part of her work lies in the strategic communication of EU-funded projects; she also serves as the Communications Lead for Voices – The European Festival of Journalism and Media Freedom. Her thematic focus includes digital regulation, media pluralism, and press freedom.

Her professional background in communication includes previous roles at the European Science Foundation, the EUI’s School of Transnational Governance, and as a freelance consultant. Prior to that, she studied East Asian Studies (University “La Sapienza” of Rome) and Political Science (University of Bologna).
