Belén López Garrido is an Editorial Manager at the European Broadcasting Union, Europe’s largest association of public service media. A graduate of Columbia University’s School of Journalism, she has worked as a reporter and editor in the United States and Europe for over 25 years. A native of Galicia, in Spain, she is now based in Geneva, Switzerland, where she is part of the News Strategy department, working in digital innovation projects and as AI lead for Eurovision News. She also runs the EBU Investigative Journalism Network, where she has coordinated several award-nominated, cross-border investigations in collaboration with EBU Members across Europe. Belen is fluent in four languages and works occasionally as a volunteer with the media literacy program Lie Detectors.
