Nicky Coghlan is a Radio and Podcast Producer with RTÉjr. For 18 years, he taught Radio, Music Production, and Sound Design at Coláiste Dhúlaigh CFE. Since 2019, however, he has been leading a new approach to audio content for young audiences at RTÉ. During this time, RTÉjr has launched nearly 40 different podcast series, offering a mix of reality and drama tailored specifically for its youngest listeners. Nicky collaborates with independent writers and producers to oversee series production, ensuring that the content delivered meets world-class standards, while also creating in-house productions.

Ecolution was the first show Nicky produced with RTÉ. Initially conceived as a five-part series to introduce key concepts related to the climate crisis, the show has since grown into a cornerstone of the station’s offerings. It covers topics ranging from nature engagement and oceans to birds and climate action. The show has earned significant recognition, including being a finalist at the New York Radio Festival, winning three silver awards at the IMRO Radio Awards, and being featured at the EBU Podcast Forum.
