Patrick Leusch is Head of European Affairs at Deutsche Welle (DW), where he leads EU engagement, secures European funding, and represents DW’s interests with the European Commission and the European Parliament.

He oversees several EU-funded projects, including ENTR, InfoMigrants, and the European Information Shield Initiative E-ISI, which supports independent news in the EU’s Eastern Neighbourhood. Drawing on extensive media training experience gained through the DW Akademie, he combines policy, journalism, and capacity-building expertise. Previously, he served as Managing Director of the DW Global Media Forum and CEO of DW Media Services GmbH.
