Olivier Van Bockstael is a Project Officer at UNESCO, where he works on Media and Information Literacy and digital competencies.

He contributes to the development and implementation of UNESCO’s global initiatives aimed at strengthening critical thinking and helping people navigate today’s rapidly evolving information environment. His work focuses on MIL policy development, education, artificial intelligence and international cooperation. He coordinates major initiatives, including Global Media and Information Literacy Week and the UNESCO Youth Hackathon, and works with governments, educators and civil society to advance media and information literacy worldwide.
